Our History
The Pacific Northwest, our home, is known for two core things: technological innovation and enthusiasm for coffee. Naturally, Concordia’s roots tie back to these themes in a way that guides us still to this day.
From our start in 1989 as Acorto, Inc., our Founders brought the manual skills of a professional Barista to coffee equipment with their invention of a single-button, automatic espresso machine that could grind, brew, steam, and froth milk: the world’s first super automatic espresso machine!
Growth and innovation continued through the 1990’s as Acorto grew to become a leading manufacturer of these new bean-to-cup coffee machines. This growth lead to a 2004 ownership and branding change Concordia Beverage Systems. These changes fueled our reputation as an innovative American manufacturer. And over the years, we’ve extended that tradition as we continue to engineer patented products known for innovative features, ease-of-use, and superb beverage taste that customers love.

Building highly engineered coffee equipment that customers love is our passion. This is only possible because they are designed, developed, and hand-built in our Seattle-area facility by skilled personnel using nearly 100% Made-in-America parts. We’re proud to be an American manufacturer in the global coffee industry.
And we firmly stand behind our products with industry-leading quality certifications such as NSF, CE, and UL to ensure quality, safety, and reliability plus one of the largest Technical Service organizations in the industry meaning customers can count on Concordia products and people. Our Team
We’re a tight-knit coffee family with a lot of technology, engineering, and beverage talent from places like Boeing, Honeywell, and Starbucks. Everyone from our executive team on down to the folks who hand-assemble each machine works out of our Renton, WA headquarters. Customer Service, Engineering, Production, Marketing, and Sales work alongside one another at our Renton, WA facility to deliver a superb customer and brand experience. Together, we’re lead by leadership from our parent company, Middleby Coffee Solutions Group.
